A young Town U21 side lost 4-0 to a more experienced Brighton team in wind and rain at Lancing FC’s Culver Road this evening. Joe Whight netted an own goal just before the break with Will Hoskins (2) and Stephen Dobbie scoring the rest in the second half.

Town boss Paul Jewell was hoping the Blues’ legion of international players would return to Portman Road unscathed when he spoke the press ahead of Saturday’s game at Burnley. Loan midfielder Kieron Dyer could return to the side after missing the Scunthorpe game with a thigh problem, while Lee Martin begins a two-match ban.

Academy defender Kurt Robinson won his first England U17 cap as Kenny Swain's side defeated Finland 3-2 at the Nordic Tournament in Iceland. Robinson played the full 90 minutes and prevented a late equaliser when he cleared the ball off the line.
